"The Landing" as all who know the place call it, has been in Justy's dad's family for generations. There is a bait shop, boat rental, crab shack and marine mechanic business all jam-packed into the property and run by her family for way before her time. It is where her dad, aunts and uncles all grew up. Her grandfather built the original wooden rental boats by hand and her grandparents kept the place running until they were physically unable to. From the first few weeks of dating, Chris and Justy spent lots of time down at the Landing and Chris now currently runs the mechanic business with Justy's dad. The Landing has shaped who she is as a person, as well as Chris' new career in the marine industry.
Megan, Justy's coworker asked her if it was alright if she gave Chris her number because she thought they would be a good match, so she agreed. Chris started texting Justy the next day, conversation came easy and they planned to meet for a date later that week. The day of he asked her where she would like to go, and since it was a beautiful day she picked her favorite place, The Jetty. He had never been there. Conversation came just as easy in person and they ended up hanging out there until 1:30am together! Everything continued flowing so easy they ended up getting a puppy together, Wylie, and shortly after bought a house and moved in together.
Chris & Justy are fellow Caps fans and Chris proposed to Justy at a game!
They love to have a good time, no matter what they are doing it always comes down to that. They lived up to that during their reception it was such a blast and we really enjoyed celebrating with them! After we had left they even backed a boat into the tent to continue the music and party! haha
They try not to take life too seriously, but are still always there for each other when those serious moment happen.
From the Groom: "I am a lot to handle and one of a kind. She always lets me be me and stands by me, all while not making me become someone I am not."
From the Bride: "From the start, everything came so easy between us. We never had to struggle for conversation, and didn't have to change or hide anything about our personalities. It definitely made me realize that there was something different about this one."
I really adore this couple and their sweet story! Chris told me after their portraits "Thanks for making this so fun" and I couldn't help but feel so blessed to have them as a couple. And the fact they made my boat portrait dreams come true and they were down for whatever I wanted!
Their wedding day couldn't have been more perfect from the gorgeous day and the love and laughter. Even though the high tide caused so much flooding they had to come up with some plan Bs everything turned out so so perfect.
Congrats Justy & Chris! Thank you for letting me tell your story.
